San Donato Milanese (Milan), 16 September 2020 – Eni (as the Operator of the Block) and bp (as contractor member) announce a new gas discovery in the so-called "Great Nooros Area", located in the Abu Madi West Development Lease, in the conventional waters of the Nile Delta, offshore Egypt.
This new discovery, achieved through the Nidoco NW-1 exploratory well, is located in 16 meters of water depth, 5 km from the coast and 4 km north from the Nooros field, discovered in July 2015.
The Nidoco NW-1 exploratory well discovered gas-bearing sands for a total thickness of 100 meters, of which 50 meters within the Pliocene sands of the Kafr-El-Sheik formations and 50 meters within the Messinian age sandstone of the Abu Madi formations, both levels with good petrophysical properties. In the Abu Madi formations a new level, which was not yet encountered in the Nooros field, has been crossed proving the high potential of the Great Nooros Area and the further extension of the gas potential to the North of the field.

Sunday, 7 May 2017
Production from Eni’s Nooros gas field will reach 1.2 bcf/d before the end of August, up from a current 920-970 mcf/d, Oil Minister Tarek El Molla tells Youm7.
According to El Molla, the company is in the final phases of drilling to expand production from the field.
TEKMOR Note: In July 2016, Ieoc through Petrobel has announced the discovery of the Nooros field located in the Abu Madi West development lease in the Nile Delta which is estimated to contain about 530 bcf (approx. 15ncm or 0,5tcf) of gas in place, beside to associate condensates.

Egypt: Eni to add 80Mmcfpd of gas from the Nooros field by the end of November - ECOFIN AGENCY
Wednesday, 26 October 2016 - 12:59Anita Fatunji
(Ecofin Agency) - In Egypt, Eni plans to add 80Mmcfpd of gas from its Nooros concession to the national grid by the end of November 2016.
According to a source with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), the total gas production from Nooros is set to increase from 850Mmcfpd to 930Mmcfpd by the end of November. This is to occur after the drilling of a number of development wells and adding them to the project’s production, Egypt Oil &Gas reports.
Connecting these wells to the national gas grid will help fill the natural decrease gap in local gas production, which is estimated at 600Mmcf each year with an average of around 50Mmcf per month.

Eni's production reaches 65,000 boed with Nooros field just 10 months after discovery - ENI
11/05/2016
Eni, following the start of production of the Nidoco North 1X exploration well and the Nidoco North West 4 development well, brought the production of Nooros field, to around 65,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. This new milestone is achieved in just 10 months of discovery.
San Donato Milanese (Mi), 11 May 2016 – Eni, following the start of production of the Nidoco North 1X exploration well and the Nidoco North West 4 development well, brought the production of Nooros field, located in Abu Madi West concession, to around 65,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (around 33,000 net to Eni). This new milestone, achieved in just 10 months after discovery took place in July 2015, further confirms Eni's near field exploration strategy oriented on high-value activities, which, thanks to the existing infrastructures, allows the fast development of the findings.

ENI says Zohr gas is all on Egypt’s side - IN CYPRUS / CYPRUS WEEKLY
28/02/2016
Cypriot hopes that the some of ENI’s massive natural gas find offshore Egypt last August might have crossed into the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) were dashed on Friday when the Italian oil and gas major made it clear that the gas was all on the Egyptian side.
“The comprehensive formation evaluation program confirmed the same gas-water contact and connection with the discovery well showing Zohr as a single and continuous mega tank of natural gas, fully comprised in the Egyptian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and within the Shorouk Block,” said ENI, referring to the results of the first Zohr appraisal well.
ENI said that the appraisal well had “excellent reservoir characteristics” with 305 metres ‘net pay’ – a measure of volume.
