Circle Oil Plc, the Irish incorporated oil and gas exploration, development and production company, is looking to sell its 40% stake in North West Gemsa field.
The concessions are operated by a joint production company PetroAmir, whose partners include: EGPC, Zhen Hua (NPIC – 50% working interest and operator); Circle Oil Egypt Limited (40% working interest); and SDX Energy (10% working interest).
The NW Gemsa exploration license, which was converted to Al Amir and Geyad development leases, and lies in the Gulf of Suez area, has been put on offer by the company and the closing date for receiving offers was May 10th, according to Geol. Hassan Hataba, General Manager of PetroAmir.
Geol. Hataba cited difficult economic conditions, like many other oil companies, as the reason for putting up its stake for sale. He added that while several factors, such as declining in oil prices, increasing expenses and the company’s obligations to banks were the reasons for considering the sale.

3D Seismic Programme on South Disouq, Egypt - SDX ENERGY
LONDON, March 16, 2016 /CNW/ - SDX Energy Inc. (“SDX”) (TSX VENTURE: SDX) is pleased to provide an update on its activities at its South Disouq asset located onshore Nile Delta Egypt.
Further to the announcement on 10 November 2015, regarding the signing of contract for the seismic acquisition of 300km2 of 3D data on the South Disouq concession (SDX 55% WI), the Company announces that the programme has commenced.The seismic acquisition programme is expected to take approximately three months after which a 3-4 month period of processing and interpretation will be undertaken. The data obtained through this programme will be used to determine the prospectivity on the block followed by the selection of a location for a high impact exploration well forecast to be drilled in Q4 2016.

The Al Amir SE 23 (AASE-23) development well in North West Gemsa in Egypt has encountered oil-bearing reservoir sections in the Kareem Rahmi and Shagar formations and will be completed as a producer in the Shagar, according to SDX Energy Inc.
The well was drilled to a depth of 3,018 m (9,900 ft) where both the Shagar and Rahmi oil reservoirs were encountered. Log analysis indicates 7 m (23 ft) of net Shagar oil pay and 9 m (28 ft) of net Rahmi oil pay, the release said. The well has been completed as an oil producer in the Shagar and has flowed on test light 42.2 degree API oil at a rate of 3,860 barrels of oil per day (bbl/d) with 2.55 million standard cubic feet of associated gas per day (MMscf/d).
The well will be placed in production in the coming days as soon as the completion rig has moved off location, the release said.
