CALGARY -- Condor Petroleum Inc., has announced that drilling has commenced on the Yakamoz-1 exploration well, which is located 2 km north of the Company’s 100% owned and operated Poyraz Ridge gas field in Turkey.
Based on existing seismic data and well results from Poyraz Ridge, the Yakamoz prospect could be more highly fractured and gas rich than the reservoirs encountered at Poyraz Ridge. The well is expected to reach its planned total depth of 2,000 m in early third-quarter 2017. Poyraz Ridge development remains on track to begin gas production in third-quarter 2017.

Condor Petroleum has announced that construction of the Poyraz Ridge 15 million square cubic feet a day (mmscfd) gas processing facility in Turkey is proceeding to schedule, with the first gas being targeted mid-year.
In an operations update, the company also stated that all major gas processing equipment has been installed and the remaining components will arrive in the next few weeks.
Installations of the inter-field gas gathering lines and electrical power lines have been completed at the facility.

Canadian oil company Condor Petroleum has announced the drilling results of the Poyraz West 2 appraisal well that tested the south-west extension of the Poyraz Ridge field.
According to the wireline logs, the well encountered 142m of net pay, which includes the discovery of a 60m Pre-Sogucak reservoir.
The newly discovered reservoir is known to be stratigraphically older and deeper than the Gazhanedere and Sogucak intervals. Initial evaluation found that the reservoir comprises interbedded conglomerates and sandstones.

Condor Petroleum Inc., Calgary, has cemented production casing in a well that logged at least 135 m of net natural gas pay in stacked reservoirs at the edge of Poyraz Ridge gas field under development in northwestern Turkey.
Pay in the Poyraz 3 well is in Miocene Kirazli and Gazhanedere sandstones and Eocene Sogucak carbonate.
The company said the well encountered no gas-water contact in basal Gazhanedere reservoirs. The gas-water contact in the Sogucak was confirmed to be at the structural spill point of Poyraz Ridge field.
Condor President and Chief Executive Officer Don Streu said borehole imaging of the Sogucak “confirms the presence of an extensive network of fractures with the pay column, which should serve to enhance flow performance.”
