Halliburton lands work off Israel - NATURAL GAS NEWS

Upstream services company Halliburton said September 14 it was awarded a contract to drill as many as five wells off the coast of Israel.

Halliburton will conduct the work for Energean, a Mediterranean- and North Sea-focused explorer.

“Halliburton will collaborate with Energean to economically and safely deliver exploration, appraisal, and development wells offshore Israel,” the services company explained. “The contract is for three firm and two optional wells to deliver all services including project management, directional drilling, drill bits, drilling fluids, cementing, solids control, wireline, slickline, completions, production enhancement, and subsea services.”

Energean Oil & Gas revealed Wednesday that it expects to spud the Zeus exploration well in March.

Energean Oil & Gas revealed Wednesday that it expects to spud the Zeus exploration well offshore Israel in March.

The asset is targeting 0.6 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of gas initially in place (GIIP) according to Energean, which added that it is preparing to drill two additional exploration wells during 2020, “which will be contingent on the results from Zeus”.

Prospects being evaluated for drilling include Athena, which is said to hold 0.6 Tcf GIIP, Hera, which is said to hold 0.4 Tcf GIIP, and Poseidon, which is said to hold 1 Tcf GIIP.

Exxon Mobil drillship arrives in Limassol on November 12 - KNEWS / KATHIMERINI

Preparations are underway for Exxon Mobil’s drilling at Block 10 in the Cypriot exclusive economic zone south of the island.

Already, four support vessels are awaiting for the drillship in Limassol port.

The drillship called Stena IceMAX is, according to Aberdeen based Stena Drilling, the world’s first dynamically positioned, dual mast ice-class drillship with a length of 228 meters. The Stena IceMAX is a harsh environment DP Class 3 drillship capable of drilling in water depths up to 3000 meters. The vessel operates under UK flag.

Its arrival is expected next Monday, November 12. The target is a location named ''Delphini’’ in Block 10.

Energean appoints Stena drillship for development drilling at Israel's Karish field - WORLD OIL

ATHENS -- Energean Oil & Gas is pleased to announce that Energean Israel has signed a contract with Stena Drilling for the development drilling of Karish field, offshore Israel.

Pursuant to the contract, Stena Drilling will deploy the Stena Forth drillship (or such substitute as may agreed by the parties) to drill three development wells in first-quarter 2019 (with provision made for further options), subject to Energean’s Final Investment Decision (FID) regarding the Karish and Tanin fields.
The Stena Forth, one of the DrillMAX Fleet vessels, is a DP Class 3 ultra-deepwater drillship with a track record in world-wide operations, ranging from the Mediterranean (Libya), Egypt (Gulf of Suez), Malaysia, Greenland and the U.S. (Gulf of Mexico).
