Egypt Kuwait Holding’s NSCO begins production from second North Sinai well - ENTERPRISE

Egypt Kuwait Holding’s (EKH) NSCO Investments started production from its second North Sinai natural gas well on 29 August with an output of 20 mcf/d, the company said in a press release.

The new well brings the company’s total production to 75 mcf/d, a 200% increase compared to the first six months of 2019.

The company is now drilling its third well, which it expects to complete during 4Q2019. EKH started production from its first North Sinai well in July.

Italy's Eni to drill North Sinai exploratory oil well next week- EGAS official - ZAWYA / ENTERPRISE

CAIRO - Italy's Eni and Egypt's Tharwa Petroleum will drill the first exploratory oil well in northern Sinai's offshore Noor field next week, an official at Egypt's gas company EGAS said on Thursday.

Egypt's cabinet approved in March a $105 million deal to explore the North Sinai region of the Mediterranean Sea. Tharwa Petroleum, which holds a 15% stake in Noor.

Expectations are high: Eni, which holds an 85% stake in the field, denied in recent months reports claiming that it had discovered 90 tcf of reserves there, or 3x as much as the supergiant Zohr field. The company signed two other agreements with the government last month for exploration in the Nile Delta and Western Desert.

Egypt: Local oil companies increase gas production from the Ras El Bar and the North Sinai fields - ECOFIN AGENCY

Toward the drive to achieve self-sufficiency by 2020, Egyptian oil companies have increased gas production from their respective assets. Companies such as Pharaonic Petroleum Company (BP/EGPC) and North of Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO) have succeeded in producing 110 Mmcf/d and 70 Mmcf/d of natural gas respectively.

Pharaonic has completed the Phase 3 of its development operations for the Ras El Bar field located in Ras El Bar Concession in Nile Delta with an investment of $265 million. As a result, the company succeeded in producing 110 Mmcf/d of natural gas, which is later expected to increase to 500 Mmcf/d.
