Italian Eni finished establishing all the gas processing units for Zohr natural gas field in May 2019, boosting its processing capacity to 3.2 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) of gas, a source in the oil and gas sector told Al Borsa Newspaper.
The processing plants established for Zohr are combined into a 400 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) temporary processing unit, in addition to seven units with a capacity of 2.8 bcf/d, all of which had investments of $5 billion, the source noted.
Zohr gas field’s total output reached 2.3 bcf/d, compared to 2.1 bcf/d at the beginning of 2019, the source said, adding that each well in Zohr produces an average of 250 mmscf/d of natural gas.

INVESTMENT WATCH- Are Eni and Lukoil investing in USD 700 mn gas plant the in Western Desert? Italy’s Eni and Russia’s Lukoil plan to invest USD 700 mn to develop a natural gas processing plant in the Western Desert, said Mohamed El Kaffas, chairman of Eni joint venture AGIBA. The plant is expected to have a capacity of 100 mcf/d with plans to ship the processed gas to Alexandria through a 200 km pipeline, he tells Egypt Today. The plant is expected to be completed in three years. AGIBA plans to drill 28 wells in the Western Desert concessions in tandem with the development of the plant.

Eni to finalize phase of Zohr gas field processing plant by next October - ENTERPRISE

Eni plans to complete phase one of its USD 4 bn gas processing plant in Port Said next October, Al Borsa reported. The first phase of the plant, which will process gas from Zohr, will produce a daily 650 mcf, which represents 24% of the facility’s total daily capacity upon becoming fully operational of 2.7 bcf. The project should operate at full capacity by 2020 and Eni expects to pump a daily 900 mcf into Egypt’s natural gas network by the end of 2017 or 1Q2018, sources at Eni told the newspaper.
