Shell starts Production in (9b) October 2018 - EAST MEDITERRANEAN GAS NEWS

Rashid Petroleum Company (Rashpetco) to start production from the first two wells in phase two (9b) in the West Delta region deep waters of the Mediterranean Sea during the first half of October.

Adding eight production wells and two exploration wells will be completed in the third quarter of 2019 to reach overall production rates about 400 million cubic feet of gas and 3,000 barrels of condensate per day.



The work of the project is in full completion of the drilling of two wells stage by the drilling rig located in the region, which was already moving to start drilling the third well.

Hisham Al Attar, Chairman of Rasheed Petroleum Company, said that a second drilling rig has been started to speed up the exploration drilling program in the region by offering a tender for bringing in the new drilling rig, the new drilling wells will be dug in deep water at high temperature and pressure areas

In addition to a reserve of 351 billion cubic feet of natural gas in addition to 3.4 million barrels of condensates in view of the potential of these wells.

Rashid Petroleum Company/Burullus Gas Company (Rashpetco) has achieved its production target for the first half of fiscal year (FY) 2017/2018, reaching 684 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas, Rashpetco is a joint venture between Shell and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).
