Energean identifies Zeus as next drilling target offshore Israel - OFFSHORE MAGAZINE

ATHENS, Greece – Energean plans a 5.4-km (3.36-mi) subsea tieback of its recent Karish North discovery offshore Israel to the FPSO Energean Power.

This follows completion of side track appraisal operations at the well, which have confirmed a best estimate recoverable resource of 0.9 tcf of gas and 34 MMbbl of light oil/condensate (combined around 190 MMboe).

The Energean Power is being constructed with a gas production capacity of 8 bcm/yr (775 MMcf/d).

The drillship Stena DrillMAX has now relocated to complete the three Karish Main development wells, after which the vessel will drill the Zeus exploration prospect, targeting 0.6 tcf across three reservoir intervals.

ATHENS, Greece – Energean has issued updates (Results For Half Year Ended 30 June 2019) on its development and exploration campaigns in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

The main project is the Karish/Tanin gas development offshore Israel, where the drillship Stena DrillMAX recently completed drilling of two of the Karish Main wells.

In both cases, the outcome was positive, with a 45-m (147-ft) gross gas column encountered in the D-sands interval. Also, fluid samples from the main reservoir indicate a higher than foreseen condensate ratio.

Drilling of the final well in the program, Karish Main-01, is under way and this is expected to finish during 4Q. The three wells will deliver an initial 4.3 bcm of gas sales into the Israeli domestic market.

Later this year the FPSO hull is due to sail from China to Singapore.

In July, Israel’s Petroleum Council awarded Energean and Israel Opportunity – Energy Resource four new offshore licenses (55, 56, 61, and 62) for block D, 45 km (28 mi) from the coast.

Significant New Gas Discovery at Karish North - ENERGEAN OIL & GAS

London, 15 April 2019 - Energean Oil and Gas plc (LSE: ENOG, TASE: אנאג) the oil and gas producer focused on the Mediterranean, is pleased to announce that the Karish North exploration well has made a significant gas discovery.

Preliminary analysis indicates:

• Initial gas in place estimates of between 1 Tcf (28 Bcm) and 1.5 Tcf (42 Bcm).
• High quality reservoir in the B and C sands.

The well reached an intermediate TD of 4,880 meters approximately 7 days ahead of schedule. A gross hydrocarbon column of up to 249 meters was encountered and a 27 meter core was recovered to surface. Further evaluation will now be undertaken to further refine resource potential and determine the liquids content of the discovery.

Drilling of the initial phase of the Karish North well is now complete. As planned, Energean will now deepen the well to evaluate hydrocarbon potential at the D4 horizon.

Once operations are completed on Karish North, the Stena DrillMAX will return to drilling the three Karish Main development wells. Following this four well programme, Energean has six drilling options remaining on its contract with Stena Drilling. 

The Karish North discovery will be commercialised via a tie-back to the Energean Power FPSO, which is located 5.4km from the Karish North well. The FPSO is being built with total processing and export capacity of 8 Bcm/yr (775 mmcf/d), which will enable Karish North, and future discoveries, to be monetised. 

Energean Oil and Gas reveals start of well drilling campaign offshore Israel - PROACTIVE INVESTORS

Energean Oil and Gas PLC (LSE:ENOG) has started development drilling operations in its 2019 Israel well campaign, which will comprise at least four wells, but, could increase to as many as ten.

It initially has a programme of four wells at the Karish North project, which will see the ‘batch drilling’ of their top-sections, enabling significant operational efficiencies and cost savings.

The wells will be drilled by the contracted Stena DrillMAX drillship, which can operate in deep waters (up to 10,000 feet deep).

Energean last month told investors that it planned to target some 2.3 trillion cubic feet of potential gas resources through the 2019 drill programmes.

First gas is targeted in the first quarter of 2021.
