CAIRO – 24 December 2019: "The third well of the Baltim southwest field is planned to be added on production in January," Sources in the petroleum sector told Egypt Today Tuesday.
The Ministry of Petroleum announced in November adding the exploration wells, Baltim southwest 1 and Baltim southwest 2, in the Nile Delta region on the production map at production rates of about 190 million cubic feet of gas per day and about 1,300 barrels condensate per day.
In September, Eni announced the success of starting up production from the offshore Baltim South West gas field in Egypt after being discovered in June 2016.
The field is located in shallow waters 12 kilometers off the Mediterranean coast of Egypt in the Baltim South development lease. It lies 10km from the Nooros field, but still within the Great Nooros area.
The project is executed by Petrobel, the operating company jointly held by Eni and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) on behalf of Medgas.

Eni: Zohr gas production reaches 2.7 bcfd - ENI
San Donato Milanese (Milan), 21 August 2019 - Eni announces that the production from Zohr field has now reached more than 2.7 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd), about 5 months ahead of the Plan of Development (PoD).
This remarkable result has been achieved following the completion of all eight onshore treatment production units – the last one commissioned in April 2019 – and all Sulphur production units in August, the production start-up of two wells in the southern culmination of the field (in addition to the ten wells already drilled in the northern culmination) as well as the start-up on August 18th 2019 of the second 216 km long 30” pipeline connecting the offshore subsea production facilities to the onshore treatment plant.
The new pipeline, in conjunction with the completion and optimization of the plant treatment capacity, paves the way to increase, by the year end, the field potential production rate up to 3.2 bcfd against the POD’s plateau rate of 2.7 bcfd.

Work is still ongoing to develop the field and link it to the national gas grid. Eni estimated the field to hold 1 tcf of natural gas after it was discovered in 2016.
Six wells in the development lease were originally slated to be linked to production in 2H2017. Little has been heard of the field since then.
Eni (through its Italian Egyptian Oil Company subsidiary) and BP both hold 50% stakes in the field.

CAIRO -- Eni’s CEO, Claudio Descalzi, Bob Dudley, CEO of BP, and the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla signed a deed completing the sale to BP of a 10% stake in the Shorouk concession, offshore Egypt. The signing took place in Cairo in the presence of the Prime Minister Sherif Ismail. Eni and BP first agreed on the sale of the concession stake, where the super-giant Zohr gas field is located, in November 2016. Eni, through its subsidiary IEOC, now holds a 90% stake in the license, while Rosneft has agreed to acquire a 30% stake, subject to the Egyptian governmental approval.
Additionally, Claudio Descalzi has been received by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Italy's Eni raises potential of Egyptian Nile Delta gas field Baltim - AHRAM ONLINE
Thursday 22 Sep 2016
Italy’s Eni has upgraded the potential production of the Egyptian Nile Delta gas field, Baltim South West, to 1 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of gas, the company stated on its website on Thursday.
The Baltim South West field is located in the conventional waters of the Nile Delta, in water 25 metres deep, 12 km from the coastline and just 10 km from the Nooros field, discovered in July 2015 and already in production.
The group said that with the new potential rise, the gas potential of the so-called “Great Nooros Area” reaches 3 Tcf of gas in place, of which about 2 Tcf are in the Nooros field, while the remaining are in the new independent discovery of Baltim South West.
