  • Delek, Israel’s largest gas company, falls 4.3 percent
Israeli gas company shares plunged on Sunday after a news report suggested that police investigators scrutinizing the purchase of submarines may expand their probe to the gas industry.

Delek Group Ltd., Ratio Oil Exploration 1992 LP and Isramco Negev 2 LP were all sharply down in Tel Aviv after Channel 2 reported on Friday that police may begin to question politicians in connection with decisions regarding the energy sector.

Noble CEO David Stover met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this year about the company's developments off the coast of Israel, where it's exporting natural gas to Jordan for the first time.

Noble Energy Inc. seems to be firing on all cylinders.

The Houston oil and gas explorer reported solid first quarter financial results, beating analysts' expectations for earnings, revenues and production. Its wells in the Delaware Basin in West Texas and the Denver-Julesburg Basin in the Rockies are outperforming expectations and targets and it began exporting natural gas from Israel to Jordan for the first time. The company also is continuing to improve its portfolio, selling natural gas properties in Appalachia's Marcellus Shale to an unnamed buyer for $1.2 billion, which will help it pay down debt incurred after its $2.7 billion purchase of Clayton Williams Energy Inc.

March 28 (Reuters) - Genel Energy's market value collapsed to an all-time low on Tuesday after it said for a second time that its flagship oilfield contains less crude than expected, dealing another blow to chairman Tony Hayward to rescue the indebted Kurdish producer.

Since listing in 2011 and claiming to be the largest independent UK listed firm by reserves, Genel has been hit by a string of unsuccessful exploration campaigns in Africa and reserves at its largest Iraqi Kurdistan field shrinking to just a tenth.

Investors who bought into Genel at 11 pounds ($13.8) a share in early 2014 were left with 60 pence on Tuesday as reserve cuts, an oil price collapse and Iraq's fight against Islamic State hammered the stock.

Noble Energy, the key player in the Israeli gas industry as operating partner in the Tamar and Leviathan natural gas fields, is facing a financial crunch just as it is about to embark on a multibillion-dollar investment to bring Leviathan into production.

Developing Leviathan – by far Israel’s biggest gas reserve – will cost between $5 billion and $6 billion. Noble’s share amounts to $2.5 billon, with the rest coming from its Israeli partners, led by Yitzhak Tshuva’s Delek Group.
