Egypt has delivered to Jordan samples of the natural gas it will export by January 2019, Jordan’s Energy Minister Hala Zawati said, according to Petra.
Oil Minister Tarek El Molla and El Zawati had signed last month a natural gas sale and purchase agreement under which Egypt will supply 250 mcf/d of gas to Jordan.
This quantity will cover 10% of the country’s gas needs to generate electricity and will restore Egyptian exports of gas to Jordan to pre-2009 levels.
