Jumbo Offshore has secured a contract from TechnipFMC to deliver transportation and installation services at the Leviathan development, located in the eastern Mediterranean region offshore Israel.
TechnipFMC is working on a project that comprises a subsea production system connecting subsea wells to a fixed platform located 10km off the coast of Israel.
Under the terms of the contract, Jumbo is responsible for lowering a 410t subsea production manifold onto the seabed at a water depth of 1643m.
The company is also required to install various other subsea isolation valves (SSIVs) and valve skids at a water depth of 86m.
“Jumbo will appoint one of her offshore heavy-lift crane vessels (HLCVs) to complete this project in early 2019.”
The scope of the contract also includes transportation of various equipment from the US Gulf Coast to Eastern Mediterranean.
Jumbo Offshore Americas sales and business development head Brian Boutkan said: “Jumbo will appoint one of her offshore heavy-lift crane vessels (HLCVs) to complete this project in early 2019.
“By using one of our DP equipped heavy-lift construction vessels with its combination of transport and deepwater installation capabilities, we can provide a unique solution for the transportation and installation aspects of this project.”
Jumbo will also deliver project management and engineering services.
The Leviathan gas field is one of the largest gas fields in the Mediterranean Sea and expected to come online by the end of next year.
In addition to US company and field operator Noble Energy, other project partners include Avner Oil and Gas, Delek Drilling and Ratio Oil Exploration.
In February, Schlumberger won an engineering and supply contract for a 2,000t single-lift process module to be installed on the Leviathan platform.
