IGI Poseidon has rolled out a tender for EPCI activities related to offshore sections of EastMed pipeline project.
IGI Poseidon is a 50:50 joint venture between Public Gas Corporation of Greece (DEPA) and Edison International Holding.
Eastern Mediterranean (EastMed) is a 1,900 kilometers long natural gas pipeline project to connect the gas reserves of the eastern Mediterranean to Greece.
EastMed pipeline project is currently in its FEED development phase.
The pipeline will have an initial capacity to transport ten billion cubic meters per year of gas to Greece and Italy and other south-east European countries.
This notice concerns the first phase of EastMed, in other words the 1,600 kilometres long offshore section.
The capacity should further increase to a maximum of 20 billion cubic meters per year in the second phase.
The project has also been confirmed as the Project of Common Interest (PCI) by the European [Commission].
IGI Poseidon will select two candidates to perform early preparatory engineering activities simultaneously with FEED.

- from gas sources (offshore of Israel) to Cyprus, about 300 kilometres with 2,300 metres max water depth;
- Cyprus to East Crete, around 732 kilometres with 3000 metres max water depth;
- from Crete to South Peloponnese, approximately 421 kilometres with 1,370 metres max water depth;
- crossing Gulf of Patras, some 18 kilometres with 110 metres max water depth;
- short onshore pipeline sections connecting stations to respective landfalls at Cyprus and Crete.
The tender will remain open until 15 June 2020.
