Representatives of Tenaris – a leading supplier of tubes and related services for the world’s energy industry – are in Cyprus for tentative talks related to the possible establishment of a presence on the island.

Officials of the Italian giant – whose turnover is in excess of €10 billion annually – have already been in contact with accountants, lawyers, and state representatives in a bid to ascertain how well Cyprus may support the company in its wider growth strategy pertaining to the eastern Mediterranean.

Plans for a local centre?

Considering the potential of the area in relation to energy, Tenaris is reportedly considering establishing a centre in Cyprus to serve the wider area.

According to IN Business News, the representatives of Tenaris are preparing for talks with Cyprus’ Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, during which they will be further informed as to the hydrocarbon developments in Cyprus, as well as have the opportunity to present their own plans for the region.
